Take it to the Limit – Dave Gilpin

(One More Time)

No one knows their limits because what was your limit yesterday is no longer your limit today! You’ve grown and your limits have too! What God does, however, when you are at your limits of time, patience, strength and talent is extraordinary. This is where the greatest downloads of heaven take place. And this is where God wants you to live out your life. He’s so committed to it, He’ll regularly leave little Post It note reminders to nudge you back into place. Why? Cause He’s the download King.

Makes Me Wanna Pray – Dave Gilpin

Most prayers have a lot to do with making us better, more holy and more acceptable to God. They’re about all we can do for God. Yet the Bible declares we love him BECAUSE He first loved us. To ask God to firstly show you His glory is not ancillary but mandatory to rekindling our love affair with heaven and then swimming the deepest oceans because of it. For many, it’s the more excellent prayer.

Rage Against Beige – Dave Gilpin

Pastor Dave Gilpin has a theory that many believers were more ‘exciting’ before they believed than after they believed! Before they were rescued by Christ, they spent their weekends painting the town red. Now they spend their weekends painting the church beige!

Why is that? Believers should be the most passionate, creative and adventurous people on the planet? Listen to his keynote message to find out.

Going Back is Not Going Backwards – Dave Gilpin

Sometimes you’ve got to go back in order to go forwards. Yet we are all a little scared of going back for fear of going backwards. No one wants to do that. Going back, however, is not the same as going backwards. It’s preparing you for going forwards. God told Elijah to go back the way he came. He wanted him to get back to his cutting edge. He wanted him to retrace his steps and go back to the place he ran from from through intense fear and doubt. Press play to receive a fresh boost of faith in your life with this message from Pastor Dave Gilpin.

Going Back Is Not Going Backwards – Dave Gilpin

“Let everything we do come out of the freshness of love, miracles come from first love.” Going Back Is Not Going Backwards is a brilliant and inspiring message from Ps Dave Gilpin preached live at our Hope City Leeds Sunday service. This message has the potential to stop fear of the future and allows God to call us back into love. Ps Dave Gilpin encourages us to get back on the apostolic train, to get back to living by faith and not by feelings.

Upsizing – Dave Gilpin

What to Do After the Storms are Gone

The place where you live and breathe is too small for you. It fitted yesterday, but it doesn’t fit your future. The only way out is to upsize. The prophet said to the woman about to die, go into your neighbours households and ask for pots. God was about to do a miracle of multiplication. He told her, ‘don’t ask for just a few’.  At the moment you are limiting what God wants to do by not adjusting your attitude to the faith you’ve fought to cling onto. This message will take you through the top 5 decisions of an upsizer. Listen carefully. Preached live by Senior Pastor Dave Gilpin at Hope City Sheffield, then watched *almost* live at Hope City York.

Hope City is going back. You need to go back. Something’s missing that needs collecting. This message includes the revamp of our plans for the ‘Waverley project’. If you’ve invested into it, it’s a must listen.

UPSIZING – Dave Gilpin

Storm Troopers – Dave Gilpin

It’s the End of Your Storm.

Some storms are caused by you. You became a storm first – a storm of conviction, audacity and no more compromise. The storm you’ve experienced was simply your world adjusting. Some storms are caused by Sovereignty, not to teach you a lesson but to prepare you for the next outpouring of heaven. Storms come and storms go. Dave Gilpin declares the purpose and the end of your storm, and gets you ready for the new season of power. Preached live at Hope City Church in Sheffield and then watched almost live in York.

Stop Loving You – Dave Gilpin “Almost Live”

The Bible never tells us to love ourselves, forgive ourselves or treat ourselves. It says to deny ourselves. And the reasons are excellent- You loving you will prevent God displaying His love for you. Either you do it (which leads to incapacitating worries and doubts) or you leave it to God (which leads to miraculous provisions as well as huge peace of mind). If you love you, you’ll be so preoccupied by things that Jesus said are not your business and miss everything that is your business. This message is here to help you turn bad stress into good stress. A message from Pastor Dave Gilpin, preached live at Hope City Church in Sheffield and then watched almost live in York. Enjoy.

Messiah Complex – Dave Gilpin

The Greater Good Series

Messiah Complex is a belief that either you or someone you know is called to be a saviour to your world.⁣ It’s hard wired— people need a saviour and when they fail to see the real saviour in Jesus Christ- arms wide, full of authority, care and concern- they often turn to leadership and find themselves hugely disappointed. This message is about bringing back the actual Messiah to be the head of the church. When He is, watch out- anything could happen.

Self Hate vs Self Love – Dave Gilpin

The Greater Good Series

To interpret the scripture, ‘love your neighbour as you love yourself’ by saying that you must love yourself before you can love another is to sabotage truth. Jesus isn’t saying this. He’s telling us to take our current self obsession with either self hate or self love and turn our obsession onto Him and others. Only by doing so will you display a trust in God that will enable you to experience the ocean of God’s love. And that in turn eliminates both self hatred and the need for any self love. This message when applied will release you from so much anxiety and worry accrued from attempting to love in all the wrong directions.

Future You – Dave Gilpin

The Greater Good Series

There’s two of you- Present You and Future You. When Present You meddles with Future You’s world, the result is anxiety and burn out. In Matthew 6:34, Jesus told us to not worry for tomorrow. Matthew 6:33 explains why. It refocuses Present You to get on with the ‘greater good’ of expanding the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, then allowing God, along with Future You, to get on with the ‘good’ of seeing your needs met and your destiny fulfilled. To untie Present You from Future You is your key to success.

When Friends Fail – Dave Gilpin LIVE at Calvary Church

Recorded at Your Best Life Conference on the Sunshine Coast, Australia.

There’s three kinds of friends in your world- the ones you see from high school every year, the ones who you don’t socialise with but are always looking out for you, and the friends you burn the midnight oil with who are so close and so vital. It’s often this last group that surprises us- after coming with us from A to B, they’re then nowhere to be seen as we head from B to C. One argument, and they sheer off, hardly ever to be seen again. This message will explain everything.

Secret Stories: when truth be told

Dave and Jenny Gilpin, our Senior Pastors, share intimate secrets about their marriage, their disappointments, their devotional life, their tension points and their now Word from God. This is how you’ve never heard them before. Stuart Otten from ‘About Face’ is the interviewer.

The Rainbow: Mephibosheth – Dave Gilpin

Favour Ain’t Fair.

This is part 2 of the Rainbow series. When Abraham was asked to cut 3 animals in half and place the halves opposite each other, he was setting up a mysterious covenant where the halves on the left would represent himself and the halves on the right would represent God himself. This was a precursor for Jesus who also represented both us and God in his broken body.  But between both incidents was a man called Mephibosheth, who’s life was changed forever by another distant covenant.

Mountain Men – Dave Gilpin

A man without a mountain is only half a man. Every man was born for near misses, desperate challenges and traversing trouble. And when he does it for the protection and provision of others that man becomes a brother, a husband, a father. The bible tells us, ‘How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news…’ A man’s feet can tell you everything about the man. This podcast reveals all. A message from our Senior Pastor Dave Gilpin, preached live at Hope City Church in Sheffield then watched almost live in York.

The Rainbow – Dave Gilpin

Signs from Heaven to Earth

The question why do bad things happen to good people comes from an over exaggeration of our own goodness. We’ve placed ourselves miles too high on the Scale of Good. You know you better than anyone so it’s not a surprise to know that you’re not really that good at all. And if you are, it’s grace at work in you. From the Rainbow to the Cross there’s a covenant supplying you with goodness and mercy that’s totally disproportionate to the altar you find yourself upon. If you look to the covenant and not yourself you’ll find so much of God your life will never be the same.

Dave Gilpin – Middle Child Syndrome

When you’re sandwiched between the old and the brand new, MCS comes knocking. It happens to Pop Stars, the middle aged, the flash guitarist when a flasher guitarist enters the room as well as the older brother when the younger brother comes along. Shunted, displaced, shelved and ignored- emotions run both high and deep. To not understand that God is in the midst preparing you for your next big thing is to be left despising your world and escaping to another. This podcast ,recorded at C3 Powerhouse Australia will help you navigate your future.

The God of Reduction

This leadership message, shared at Lead Summit in England by Dave Gilpin, looks at the ‘peril’ of everything that moves- it has to lose something to gain something. For Abraham he ‘lost’ his son, for Gideon he lost almost all his men, for Joseph he lost his reputation. You may be part of a reduction right now… and it could possibly be an absolute move of God. It could be a pulling back in the bow before a propelling of the arrow to slice through the winds to hit the mark of destiny. This message will restore your confidence that God is on the move.

Fabulous Faith And How To Use It – Dave Gilpin

Tune in as we go almost live to Hope City Sheffield with Senior Pastor Dave Gilpin. God is putting our house in order, not in the way it used to be, but in the way that we need to become. Something incredible is about to happen, so it’s time to put YOUR house in order. Cling on to faith, it is the most valuable commodity that you have. You don’t need more faith, just less doubt.

Fake Faith – Let’s Get Real – Dave Gilpin

The slipstream of faith is a deadly place. You can tuck in under someone else’s breakthroughs and have a measure of success and yet be unaware that somehow you’ve run out of your own faith. You can be full of hope that God will come through for you, yet He doesn’t because you’ve mistaken hope for faith. You’re faith is fake faith. When God gives you real faith it’s always original- it can’t be borrowed, imparted, on loan or leased. It’s instantly yours. And it’s this kind of faith that not only saves, it’s the key to all of the breakthroughs you’re about to have in the future of your life. Listen well.

Trust Issues – Dave Gilpin

All of us have trust issues. Failure to address them always leads to cynicism, isolation and a small life. This message begins with describing an overcoming spirit that’s available to us through Christ, then encourages us to step out of our distrust back into trust, through a new spirit of courage. This simple step of courage will create a big step towards the amazing future God has planned for you.

Fabulous Faith – Dave Gilpin

You don’t need breakthrough. You don’t need finance. You don’t need healing. What you need is the key that opens the door to breakthrough. Faith is that solitary key. There is no other key.  It has no feels. It has no emotion. It sees nothing in the natural. Yet it precedes everything. When you get it, it opens doors to things you’ve never experienced ever before in your life. This is about how to get it, how to use it and how to prize it.

Up Close and Personal – Dave Gilpin

Hope City Church is a multi-generational, multi-site and multi-national church full of creativity, diversity and authenticity. And that’s a challenge. Senior Pastor Dave Gilpin apologises to different groups within the church whom he feels have been let down across the years including middle-aged men, the black community and those who find themselves currently on the bench. It’s both honest and raw.

Cry Me A River – Dave Gilpin

Whether you call yourself an introvert, shy, quiet or just plain reserved, there’s a new you that supersedes the natural you times a thousand. The bible says that you’re not a lake, a pond, a swamp or a flood. You’re a river. Rivers flow. They’re dynamic. They’re hard to stop. They’re heading somewhere. And they represent everything about the new, higher You. Jesus declares that rivers of living water would flow from the inmost being of someone in whom the Spirit of God lives. Everything about this water is alive, dynamic, oozing to display its qualities and can’t be kept in a well. Click play to hear this God-filled message from Senior Pastor, Dave Gilpin.

Future Proof – Dave Gilpin

This message takes the listener through the 7 things upon which your future depends and lands on- ‘The dreams you declare will never die’. On this point Dave Gilpin digresses and outlines the plans for the future Hope City Complex in a suburb called Waverley near junction 33 on the M1. If you’re a leader and want to see how to present vision, this will be a great help!

Cry Me A River Part Deux – Dave Gilpin

Psalm 46 states, ‘There is a river that makes glad the City of God.’ The river of God in your life is unstoppable. It will never run out and will transport you into all God has for you. But the river does something else-  it carries stuff away. You can’t just dump your junk on the river bank and expect to remain in the clear waters of destiny. Every river has a bridge and there comes a time where everything needs to become ‘water under the bridge’. In this message, Dave Gilpin gives us 7 keys to letting go and allowing our ‘junk’ to go under the bridge. It’s amazing what can happen when you do.

Mending Fences – Dave Gilpin

Fences are good- good for privacy, good for personal time and good for protection. To love someone is to love their fence.

To love their fence is to allow them space- space to back away, space to hide, space to process and space to find their own convictions on life and faith.

To push through the fence either causes offence that results in a stronger fence of defence, or for some, leads to broken fences and no fences.

Remain in Community – Tim Ross

As part of our This New Republic weekend, Ps Tim Ross shares one of two messages about Support Systems. We all need support as we walk through life. In this message, Tim talks about how to find support by remaining in community. There are certain examples we can learn from the Bible, people from whom we can learn what not to do and how to support others by contributing to a healthy community.

The Voice Part 2 – Dave Gilpin

Express yourself.

Why did God ask Adam to name the animals? This would seem a pointless exercise until you remind yourself of the power of names. Names have an ability to fashion, form and frame both the present and the future. It’s happened throughout your lifetime with both positive and negative outcomes. Adam was practising on the animals what Jesus would do to the nature of Simon and the state of Lazarus- speak a new name over both creating powerful outcomes. And since we’re made in the image of God, we are called to rename ourselves, others and our cities with names of faith and hope that change things forever.

Breaking Resistance – Tebo Mpanza

If you see a sign saying ‘don’t walk on the grass’, we are all struck by a great temptation to walk on the grass! When God prompts you to do something, there’s always something in you that wants to say ‘no’. It’s that ‘no’ that needs breaking. Resistance comes in all forms from a subtle pulling back to public meltdown. This message by Tebo Mpanza, Hope City Birmingham Pastor, will help you speed into your God given future by taking your foot off the brake pedal. And we all have one.

The Voice – Dave Gilpin

Calling your future out.

Chaos marked the beginning of creation. Chaos always exists between what was and what is to come. To usher in what was to come, God spoke. He didn’t just think. He didn’t remain silent. The Word of God contains the power of God, yet the spoken word releases that power. Because the Word of God is ‘alive and active’, it’s born to be expressed. And when you express it, it never returns to heaven without accomplishing that for which it was sent.

Unboxing Possibility – Dave Gilpin

Right now you’re being unboxed. The box that held in your potential is being torn apart by unrest. To release your potential that releases all kinds of possibilities requires faith. And faith starts with a storm; a chaos and a sense of being out of control. Why? Because faith first let’s go of the old, the familiar, the usual and the worn. And that creates an uproar within us, in those who love us and in those who think they know us. To find oneself between the old and the new takes nerve. Here’s a life message to give you just that.
