Don’t Let The Tail Wag The Dog

Wisdom for a new year from Dave Gilpin. Most people get to the end of a year and start of a new year with frustrations, criticisms, and a general high level of exhaustion! Yet, it’s your critical spirit that’s a huge give away to your gifting and calling! If you’ve got the gift of mercy, you’re going to be completely frustrated with those ‘selfish people who care about nothing but themselves’. The only reason you’re so frustrated is because YOU’VE GOT THE GIFT! Just don’t let the tail of your madness wag the dog of gifting. That’s all. And that’s why you need to hear this message. Let your gift lead…always. And when you’ll always have a tail!

The Hit Factory

In church life and in leadership, all too often we hear about ‘passing on the baton’. The problem with this is that it implies a LETTING GO of your calling in order to empower somebody else, when we are actually meant to stay in the game for the long haul. Paul was the HIT, but was championed by Barnabas the HITMAKER. Barnabas understood that discipleship through fatherhood and relationship was far more effective than raw leadership – leadership has an expiry date, but fatherhood is lifelong.  When it comes to the kingdom of God, leaders are not always called to be the lead singer, but often to be the producer – the HIT MAKER. It’s time to put down the microphone and get in the studio. Recorded live at the C3 Global Leadership Conference, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Over-Attachment

All of us are prone to Over-Love. When a single person or happening becomes our only source of affirmation and adoration, we run the risk of being controlled by that person or event. This then leads to love-hate relationships. You hate them because you actually love them too much. It can be within families, with loved ones, ex-boyfriends and girlfriends or even a business venture. Over-Love canteen lead to Under-Love by living detached from those around us. You move out from being controlled to become the controller. Abraham suffered from Over-Attachment, and God found the solution. This short message may also hold the key to your freedom. Preached at ‘This New Republic’ Young Adults conference in Sheffield.

Populous

There’s a place called Bethany that your God wants to take you. The gospels only record Jesus weeping twice. The first was in Bethany – his place of affection and adoration that became his place of safety and protection. It was where he came undone. It’s hard to let it all out when you’re on the front line of Agape love, touching the lost and feeding the needy. Jesus held it in for when he crossed over the borders in Phileo love. Agape love bleeds, Phileo love breathes. If Jesus needs a Bethany, then you do too.

Preachers Masterclass

Vision gives birth to commitment. The Horse of Vision always should come before the Cart of Commitment. Most preachers start with commitment and, in doing so, wonder why there’s little uplight in what they say. This masterclass fixes the common mistakes preachers make, leaving you with keys that will open the door wider to seeing all you want to see come to pass. This message was recorded at C3 Europe Leaders Conference in Amsterdam

Beat The Blag: The 7 Greatest Lies In Church Life

Blagging has become a national pasttime. Sometimes you need to break out of your limitations and just go for it, but the danger is that it can also become a mask for deceit. Everybody blags yet, each time we cross the line, we erode the greatest unseen threat that holds every relationship together – trust. Record at Hope City Lancashire in the city of Preston, Dave Gilpin takes us into a world of smoke and mirrors and why we do it so well!

500 Shades of Grace: Goodbye Christian Grey

The only time to ever learn about grace is when you’ve been bad. Being good is too ambiguous for the human heart to work out if you’re favoured because of His love or because of your works. This teaching outlines the difference in order to set you free.

Think Big Act Small – Dave Gilpin

Middle Child Syndrome – Dave Gilpin

Crises of identity often come about when someone takes away the limelight that you were basking in and steals it for themselves. What you do when become invisible is what defines you – and what defines YOU, defines your FUTURE. (WARNING: This message contains psychological profiling from the story of the Prodigal Song. It may contains bits of you).

The Third Culture – Dave Gilpin

Our churches are filled with Third Culture People- people who grew up in a different culture to the culture in which their parents grew up. Third Culture Kids (3CKs) share a sense of not quite belonging in any place- when asked ‘Where are you from?’, their answer is always: ‘Then we moved to…. then we moved to….’. This is about their journey, their fight, their future. This is about every church in every city all over the world.

Saints In Rows – Dave Gilpin

We don’t need more power. We need more authority. Fault lines of brokenness in our lives often attract tree lines of rebellion and independence. If we can clear the trees then God can heal the cracks and see our destiny rolled out before us. This is the time for the saints to arose with new authority and fresh breakthroughs. Beautiful Disaster: LIVE from London

What do you think people think when they see you? Most people have no idea of where we have each come from and where we are going. All they see is a snapshot. A photograph. No perspective and no background. With snapshots, all we can do is categorize them. – Live from Hope City London
